The destabilizing nature of the sandbag makes it a formidable functional training implement. Even simple movements and static exercises like the Sandbag Overhead Hold become much more difficult than using the same weight with a barbell or even a kettlebell. Gripping the weight itself is hard and it will never be perfectly balanced, especially at heavier weights. If you want to make this drill even more difficult, try walking with it.
